Marillion

Before we head straight into rehearsals for our November/December UK and Europe ' Marillion with Friends From The Orchestra' our, we thought we'd let you know about the latest release from Warner Music

As you may know, Warner Music are in the process of releasing the 8 studio albums from our EMI days in Deluxe Editions.

They have already released Misplaced Childhood, Brave and Clutching at Straws and now we’re very pleased to announce Afraid of Sunlight has been given the same treatment.

Afraid of Sunlight: DELUXE EDITION is a 4CD/Blu-ray set and a five-LP version.

Both collections open with a new version of Afraid of Sunlight that was remixed earlier this year by the wonderful Michael Hunter. The CD version also includes the original mix by the original album’s producer Dave Meegan.

Both sets also have a live recording of Marillion performing at the Rotterdam Ahoy arena on September 29, 1995 during the our tour supporting Afraid of Sunlight. Six of the songs were originally released on the double live album Made Again (1996),

The Blu-ray features the album’s original 1995 mix along with several new mixes (48/24 LPCM Stereo Remix; 48/24 DTS 5.1 Mix; 48/24 LPCM 5.1 Mix). Video content includes interviews with the whole band discussing the album, a new documentary about Afraid of Sunlight, and a promo film for “Beautiful.”

The Blu-ray disc also collects the nine bonus recordings from the remastered edition of the album that was released in 1999, plus 17 previously unreleased songs that include studio jams and early versions of Afraid of Sunlight tracks like “Beyond You,” “King,” “Out Of This World” and “Beautiful.”

It is available to pre-order now and we will be hand signing a special A4 sized print for anyone who orders from us (limited to the first 4000 orders)

Release date is November 1st 2019.

We hope you enjoy it

Sorry for the slight mixup with the links which has now been corrected :-) - please use the links as above.

I ordered both CD/BR & Vinyl 15 minutes ago. Paypal confirmation is ok, but no webpage or mail confirmation from Racket yet. Server overload?

Looks lovely and artwork deserving of such a classic Marillion album. 💜

Done & done ✅ Can not wait! Love 💕 this album. Of course, ordered both

Ordered 4 down, 7 to go! Love these special editions! 😀

Ordered! Love this album.

Purchase made! Very much looking forward to this release

I already ordered. So excited as Afraid of Sunlight is one of my favorite albums! I am hopefully one of the first 4000.

Hi remember me Ahamed rocks from Birmingham please tell all ur fans that my website has been updated so I can now afford the CD version of afraid of sunlight which Is along with best of both worlds my favourite albums I love carillion and look forward to seeing you guys at Birmingham symphony hall in November

Ordered! Was there a signed art print for the Marbles release? Someone bought it for me as a birthday gift but I never got the print I have Brave and Clutching At Straws and now Afraid of Sunlight. Will be gutted if I’m missing one from the set...

Any chance Brave will be in the spotlights in the nov/dec-tour? 25 years ago this memorable album saw the light of day. Worth a party!

Hope the new mix will do justice to this music landmark and masterpiece.

Just so incredibly ordered! :D

I think it’s going to be my birthday gift 🎁😍

This was the first Marillion album I heard and the first Marillion concert I saw. Ordered it of course! 💖

That’s the cd bought, love this album

my favorite album followed very closely by Fear, Brave, Marbles, Sounds that can not be made, Anoraknophobia, This Strange Engine etc ......

Ordered can't wait to hear and see it and frame another signed print!

YES - original artwork reinstated!

Maybe the best album of Marillion 🎶😍🎶

Gazpacho is in my humble opinion, one of the band's greatest moments, lyrically and musically. A masterpiece.

Ordered. currently in pre-order (under order history on the website) so although no confirmation mail. It looks the order went through. Very nice to see the R'dam concert included (which was what I already sort of expected as I know that there were decent recordings, that were partly also used for Made Again). One of Marillion's landmark albums, this was the album where H. got my attention as Marillion's front man. Possibly the only album I ever owned that did not leave my cd player for 3 months in the summer of 1995. One of these albums that took me by complete surprise and blew me off my socks. This will always be and remain one of the most beloved albums Marillion ever made, or that was ever made by any artists. It was also EMI's swan song :-). This on BR is like a dream coming true. Nice to see all the bonuses carried over from the previous deluxe edition.

It would be nice to get the bonus content for the vinyl peeps. I’m trying to get back to vinyl. But I feel a bit ripped off when buying it.

Expensive few days, what with the Floyd set and this. However, I have pre ordered!

Remixes are kind of a funny thing really, and a bit superfluous when it comes to albums that are already pure perfection as they are ;) Nonetheless... I just have to get this!! 🖤
